The ELPEGUARD® DSL 1705 FLZ from Peters Group is a thick-film conformal coating material based on silicone (SR). It has a dielectric strength of more than 57 kV/mm and a comparative tracking index (CTI) of more than 600. This solvent-free coating material has a surface resistance of more than 5 x 109 Ohm against moisture & more than 1.4 x 1010 Ohm against condensation. It protects against corrosion (such as electrochemical corrosion and migration) even in harsh climatic conditions. It can withstand a temperature range of -45 to +200 °C and has thermal shock resistance complaint with IPC-CC-830C, 3.7.2 standard. This conformal coating material supports a standard dry layer thickness of more than 80 µm and is highly elastic making it ideal for coating flexible circuits. It supports fast thermal curing and provides good adhesion to many common substrates even without additional adhesive agents (self-priming). This conformal coating material can be easily removed mechanically or soldered for repair purposes and be reapplied to the previously cleaned substrate after the repair work. It is also compliant with UL 746E and the GB 30981-2020 Chinese standard.
