Jade Plus

Jade Plus from Nordson Corporation is an X-ray Inspection System with an inspection area of 510 x 445 mm. The inspection system has a focal spot of 0.95 µm that helps to magnify components and PCB images to over 7500x of their original sizes and see assembly defects clearly. This X-ray inspection system has a 1.33 Megapixels camera that generates high-quality images for inspection. The system uses a 16-bit flat panel detector for detecting an array of PCB Defects including cold solder joints, solder dewetting, or dendrite growth amongst others. It can be operated using a mouse or a joystick while the images appear on a projected screen.

The Jade Plus inspects the hidden regions of products which are inaccessible to optical tools. It can spot quality process trends early using advanced measurement tools for distance measurement and voiding. This system helps in assuring IPC-A-610 and IPC-7095 compliance with built-in checking for BGA and QFN voiding, solder ball diameter, roundness, bridge, and missing. The large inspection area can save the time required for inspecting multiple boards. The equipment even allows setting up an automated inspection routine once and going ahead with it.

This X-ray inspection system has an overall dimension of 1450 x 1700 x 1970 mm which makes it highly accessible, and easy to use. It requires an Anode Voltage of 30 to 160 kV.
