A Gerber viewer is any software program that uses a comprehensive toolkit to read and examine Gerber files (GRB files). Some of these programs also function as the Gerber editor software, allowing you to view and edit Gerber PCB designs. The program can print the design and export the file viewer in a variety of formats, including SVG, PDF, PNG, PDF, JPEG, etc.

While some of these programs must be installed, others are available online and don't require downloading or installation. You only need to upload your files to view them in online Gerber viewers.

The Gerber file format is the industry standard for PCB design. It is specifically a 2D binary open image file format that can be used throughout the entire PCB manufacturing process. In this way, it serves as a link between designers, engineers, and manufacturers.

All PCB design software can produce Gerber files, and all PCB fabrication software can read them. They enable secure and efficient PCB data transfer between all phases of the PCB process.

The Gerber file format is owned by UCAMCO, which also runs the official Gerber format website. On the website, you can download a variety of content for Gerber files as well as descriptions of different Gerber versions and answers to frequently asked questions.
