CERcuits, a manufacturer of ceramic and advanced PCB solutions focused on high-performance and specialized electronic applications, provides transparent PCBs in ceramic, designed to increase design possibilities in optical and high-frequency applications. The boards offer 75–85% transparency while providing thermal conductivity of 26–28 W/mK and functioning as a strong electrical insulator.

The transparent PCB supports both single and double-sided circuit layouts using silver metallization, which is not transparent. It also allows the addition of a glass-based solder mask and a legend or silkscreen layer. The company recommends minimizing solder mask coverage and designing around tracks and pads, as glass-based solder masks can reduce transmissivity by more than 70%.
The ceramic-based PCB is suited for applications such as power LED systems, laser modules, optical sensors, and circuits requiring specific design characteristics.
CERcuits also offers alternative materials, including sapphire, fused quartz, and borosilicate-based PCBs with higher transparency and copper metallization options. The transparent ceramic PCB includes characteristics such as operating temperatures up to 350°C, a low expansion coefficient, limited to no outgassing, and the ability to support hermetic packaging with 0% water absorption.
