In making the announcement, TM’s Matt Knodel, Owner/Administrator, said, “EmberX is designed and built by the same US software team that first developed the current standard for rapid point and click solder path generation. EmberX software was developed, programmed, and tested right here in Spokane, Washington. It’s designed to simplify complex selective solder programming for users of any technical level and is intended to support the entire manufacturing team — from process programmers and operators to maintenance personnel and production management.”
EmberX is designed around the needs of the selective soldering process in both the manual and in-line series (PHOENIX IL) selective soldering machines, offering control of process parameters and customizable real-time data capture and export, including integrated visual programming, tool status and operating environment. The project path tree is expandable from a simple path sequence to complete parameter detail for editing.
“Users will be impressed by the high level of automation and flexibility achievable with EmberX,” Matt says, “as well as the amount of valuable developmental feedback generated. EmberX offers faster programming and enables quick changeover with reduced setup dependency on operator experience.”
Features and capabilities of EmberX include seamless on-board full PCB image capture saves to project; simple input step and repeat for panelized products; high-definition video for programming and process observation; and automatic critical process validation tools, including wave height verification, N2 quality analysis and closed loop preheating.
Customizable maintenance timers provide either notification warnings or error conditions in order to prevent operation when maintenance tasks are overdue; and there is also a 2-point fiducial and skew correction system.
