Sono-Tek Introduces Selective Ultrasonic Flux Spray and Flux Flow Monitoring Systems

Sono-Tek Introduces Selective Ultrasonic Flux Spray and Flux Flow Monitoring Systems712370

Sono-Tek has introduced SelectaFlux 3, its latest selective ultrasonic flux spray system engineered to bring greater precision and consistency to selective soldering operations. Designed specifically for controlled flux application in selective solder machine environments, SelectaFlux 3 uses ultrasonic spray technology to deliver a uniform, finely atomized flux pattern. This approach supports reliable top-side solder fillet formation while significantly reducing the overspray and splatter commonly associated with traditional jet fluxing methods. Complementing the new fluxing system, Sono-Tek also offers the SonoFlux Servo Flow Monitoring option to enhance process control and traceability.

Built with ease of adoption in mind, SelectaFlux 3 is offered as a ready-to-integrate retrofit solution compatible with major selective solder platforms. Manufacturers can upgrade existing equipment without extensive modification, gaining improved process stability and cleaner operation. The system helps reduce flux waste and contamination, contributing to lower maintenance requirements and more consistent soldering results across production runs.

The SonoFlux Servo solution provides real-time flux flow monitoring with ±15% accuracy, recording flux volume on a per-board basis and logging data for historical review. Active alarms alert operators when flow rates move outside defined limits, helping ensure consistent application, tighter process control, and improved quality assurance throughout selective soldering operations.
