Andhra Pradesh has attracted another major investment, with Syrma SGS, one of India’s leading electronics manufacturers, announcing plans to set up the country’s largest multi-layer printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturing unit near Naidupeta in Tirupati district. The company will invest INR1,595 crore in the project, which is expected to create over 2,100 high-skill jobs for local youth.
Announcing the development on X, HRD Minister Nara Lokesh said the investment reflects global confidence in Andhra Pradesh’s business-friendly environment and skilled workforce. “This is not just an investment; it’s a vote of confidence in our people. We are translating the ‘Speed of Doing Business’ into action by providing ready, tailor-made solutions for land, water, and power so industries can move fast,” he said.
Mr. Lokesh emphasized that Andhra Pradesh’s combination of skilled manpower, robust infrastructure, and proximity to ports makes it the preferred destination for advanced manufacturing in India. “We don’t just promise ease; we deliver speed,” he added.
Quoting Syrma SGS Managing Director J. S. Gujral, Mr. Lokesh noted, “We needed speed, we chose Andhra Pradesh,” highlighting the state’s efficiency in enabling rapid industrial execution.
The upcoming PCB facility will play a crucial role in reducing India’s electronics import bill, currently around $70 billion annually, and strengthening backward integration within the domestic electronics ecosystem.
In a separate post, ahead of the CII Partnership Summit 2025, Mr. Lokesh said preparations in Visakhapatnam are progressing rapidly. “Vizag is getting ready to welcome the world. From upgraded roads to coastal beautification, the City of Destiny is being transformed ahead of the Summit. I’m proud to showcase the new look of a city ready for global investments and lasting impressions,” the Minister added.
