Zetwerk Receives ECMS Approval for Manufacturing of Optical Transceivers and Multi-Layer PCBs712370

Zetwerk Manufacturing Businesses has received approval under the Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS) for optical transceivers and multi-layer printed circuit boards (PCBs), the company said on Monday. The approval was presented to Josh Foulger, CEO of Zetwerk Electronics, by Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister for Railways, Communications and Electronics & IT, at a ceremony in New Delhi.

Zetwerk secured ECMS approval for two key projects to enhance India's domestic electronics capability and reduce import dependence. Its wholly owned subsidiary, Zetfab India, is cleared to establish a fabrication facility for complex, multi-layer PCBs. Simultaneously, Zetchem Supply Chain Services is approved to manufacture optical transceivers, including small form-factor pluggable (SFP) units. Zetwerk states these initiatives will significantly boost local production of high-precision PCB and networking components.

Foulger said the ECMS approval supports Zetwerk's plans in electronics manufacturing. "Our investments in optical transceivers and multi-layer PCBs will strengthen the domestic component ecosystem and contribute meaningfully to India's technology self-reliance," he said.

He added that Zetwerk aims to support the country's target of building a $500 billion electronic system design and manufacturing sector by enabling original equipment manufacturers to localise components and reduce imports.

Zetwerk's investment is a meaningful contribution to the domestic component ecosystem, bolstering India's position as a key global manufacturing hub. The approved projects are essential for enabling technology self-reliance and achieving the nation's ambitious electronics sector goals.
