AdvancedPCB announced the installation of a TruView™ Novus 2D, 2.5D, and 3D X-ray inspection system from Creative Electron at its Aurora, Colorado facility, expanding its inspection and quality assurance capabilities. The TruView™ Novus system enables inspection of solder joints, hidden connections, and internal structures that cannot be evaluated using optical inspection methods. The system is used for inspection of high-density and high-reliability electronic assemblies.
Equipped with 2D, 2.5D, and 3D imaging modes, the system provides visibility into complex assemblies. Its flat panel detector and 5µm focal spot size provide up to 1600x magnification for identifying defects such as voiding, misalignment, and insufficient solder fill.
The system also includes motion control features for inspection from multiple angles, while CNC mapping automation supports inspection workflows and efficiency. Imaging software is used to improve contrast and clarity for defect detection and analysis.
With the TruView™ Novus operational, AdvancedPCB supports customers in industries including aerospace and defense, medical, and high-performance computing, where inspection and reliability requirements are critical.
The installation is part of the company’s 2026 Technology Acceleration Initiative, focused on advancing circuit board manufacturing processes for complex designs and substrate applications.
