BITS Pilani, through its Work Integrated Learning Programmes (WILP), and Siemens EDA have announced a strategic collaboration to launch joint certification programs in PCB design and analysis, aimed at strengthening India’s electronics and semiconductor talent ecosystem.
The joint program is designed to develop industry-ready professionals with hands-on expertise in schematic and multilayer PCB design, high-speed signal integrity, power integrity, and EMI/EMC analysis. Participants will receive practical training on Siemens EDA’s Xpedition™ and HyperLynx™ platforms, aligning skills development with real-world design and manufacturing challenges.
Aligned with the Government of India’s Make in India and India Semiconductor Mission initiatives, the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to building indigenous design capabilities and accelerating India’s journey toward self-reliance in electronics and advanced manufacturing.
Commenting on the collaboration, Ruchir Dixit, Vice President and Country Manager at Siemens EDA, said the initiative reinforces Siemens EDA’s focus on strengthening India’s ability to design and develop world-class electronic products. He noted that the programme aims to create a strong pipeline of future-ready engineers equipped with application-driven skills and industry-leading tools to support India’s design-to-manufacturing ambitions.
Prof. V. Ramgopal Rao, Group Vice-Chancellor, BITS Pilani, said the partnership brings cutting-edge tools and industry practices directly into the learning ecosystem, helping students and working professionals build the confidence and skills needed to contribute meaningfully to India’s semiconductor and electronics growth. He added that the collaboration reflects BITS Pilani’s focus on practical, relevant, and impactful learning experiences.
Prof. G. Sundar, Director, BITS Pilani Work Integrated Learning Programmes Division, highlighted that sustained industry - academia partnerships are essential for meaningful educational impact. He said the collaboration with Siemens EDA is designed to ensure learners remain relevant, adaptable, and prepared to lead future design and manufacturing initiatives.
Delivered through BITS Pilani WILP’s Smart Manufacturing Competency Centres, the joint certification programs will emphasize experiential and problem-based learning. The courses will be open to working professionals, students, and industry engineers, addressing critical skill requirements across semiconductor design, automotive electronics, and industrial automation.
The collaboration marks an important step toward building a future-ready workforce and strengthening India’s position as a global hub for electronics design and manufacturing.
