Meiko Electronics, a Japanese manufacturer of printed circuit boards (PCBs), will invest $50 million in establishing Meiko Electronics Yen Quang, a new subsidiary in Vietnam. In a statement, Meiko Electronics said the investment is intended to accommodate expected growth in demand from customers, advancing supply chain localization in the ASEAN region. The company stated that this demand may exceed the production capacity of its existing and under-construction factories, leading to the decision to build a new manufacturing plant.
Meiko Electronics said the new PCB manufacturing subsidiary will be located in Phu Tho province in northern Vietnam. The establishment is scheduled for April 25, 2026.
Meiko Electronics began investing in Vietnam in 2006 with its first factory in Hanoi. Its most recent factory in Vietnam, the fifth, began construction in Hoa Binh province, now merged into Phu Tho province, in April 2024 with an investment of $200 million. The company’s total investment in Vietnam is set to reach $1 billion.
