Mycronic AB has received an order for an SLX mask writer from an existing customer in Asia. The order value is in the range of USD 5–7 million. Delivery of the system is planned for the fourth quarter of 2026.
The SLX laser mask writer is designed to support photomask production for the semiconductor industry and replacement and modernization requirements. According to Mycronic, photomasks manufactured by laser mask writers account for a majority of all photomasks produced for semiconductor manufacturing. The SLX is based on the same technology as Mycronic's mask writers for displays.
“Customers continue to invest in expanding capacity for laser-based photomask production in the semiconductor industry, and we are proud to support this with our semiconductor mask writer. The SLX is continuously evolving, in order to meet the industry’s increasingly demanding requirements of today and tomorrow,” said Charlott Samuelsson, Senior Vice President, Pattern Generators at Mycronic.
Mycronic's Pattern Generators division provides mask writers and metrology systems for display manufacturing and semiconductor production.
